Consistent, Safe, and Smart

Some horses have a way of making you smile before you've even swung a leg over, and Echo is certainly one of them. With his two striking blue eyes, stocky build, and personality to spare, this handsome 14.2hh gelding has plenty to catch your attention. Though it's his consistency, willing attitude, and versatility that make him worth a second look.

Overview

Echo is a seven-year-old, 14.2hh grade gelding with a sweet disposition, an athletic build, and a personality that's hard not to love. He's the kind of horse who enjoys attention, greets you at the gate, and is just as happy being brushed and fussed over as he is heading out for a ride. Under saddle, Echo offers a nice combination of responsiveness, athleticism, and versatility. He walks, jogs, and lopes, knows how to side pass, pivot, and has experience riding both Western and bareback, one-handed or two. He's been exposed to traffic, farm equipment, obstacles, trail riding, cattle, and a variety of everyday activities, along with ranch-style work such as opening gates, dragging logs, throwing ropes, and riding out alone or together.

Echo naturally has more go than whoa, making him a better match for a confident youth or amateur rider than someone looking for a beginner. He's intelligent, learns quickly, and does his best with regular riding and clear, consistent expectations. With that guidance, he's capable of offering a softer, more collected ride while still having the energy and willingness to step up when asked.

For someone looking for a versatile family horse, an enjoyable trail partner, or a gelding to continue developing toward ranch riding, 4-H, cow work, or play days, Echo has a great deal to offer. He's not a finished horse in every discipline, but he has a solid foundation, a good mind, and plenty of potential for the right person to enjoy.

Manners & Handling

Echo is an affectionate, personable gelding who enjoys attention and being part of the activity around the barn. He's often happy to greet you at the gate, appreciates a good grooming session, and has a playful personality that makes him enjoyable to spend time with.

On the ground, Echo leads, loads, ties, and stands for grooming, bathing, fly spray, and the farrier. He's comfortable with routine handling and has been exposed to everyday barn activities, including tractors, equipment, construction, loud noises, and general commotion. He's a curious, intelligent horse who enjoys having something to do and would thrive with a job that keeps his mind engaged.

Like many smart horses, Echo appreciates knowing what's expected of him. While generally pleasant and respectful to handle, he can occasionally test boundaries or become a little pushy when expectations aren't maintained. With clear, consistent handling, he's respectful, attentive, and a genuinely enjoyable horse to have around the barn.
