2006 Riding Ellie

Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My passion for training, riding, and understanding these incredible animals started at a young age, shaped by the horses who taught me some of my most valuable lessons. It all began with my mother’s heart horse, Ellie—a beautiful, registered American Quarter Horse mare with a heart of gold. She was the first horse I ever rode and the one who guided me through many of my early experiences in the horse world. From regular riding to my first competitions, Ellie was my steady partner, always carrying me forward.

As my skills grew, so did my ambitions. In 2010, we welcomed a little pony named Tornado into our lives. Though she wasn’t always easy, she quickly became my heart horse. Together, we worked through challenges, learning from each other every step of the way. By 2013, I was competing at the 4-H fair with both Ellie and Tornado, fueling my passion for showing and pushing myself to new levels. I spent my youth exploring every aspect of riding I could—halter, western pleasure, barrels, pole bending, English pleasure, jumping, horsemanship, and even cross-country. If it involved horses, I wanted to try it. Whether in a saddle or bareback, I was determined to grow as a horsewoman.

Accomplishments & Milestones
Over the years, I’ve achieved many personal and competitive successes, both in the show ring and in my journey as a trainer.
Some of my most memorable accomplishments include:

2014 – I began trick and liberty training with Tornado, teaching her to bow, lay down, sit, stay, come, perform liberty circles, rear, and play dead—all on cue.
2018 – Ellie and I won the Miss Tri-State Jr. Rodeo Queen contest and rode in the Tri-State Rodeo and parade.
2019 – Grand Champion, Youth Division at the River Valley Trail Challenge.
2020 – Grand Champion, Pro Division at the River Valley Trail Challenge.
2020 – Began taking on client horses, working with 4–5 different owners throughout the summer.
2022 – Continued client training with an expanded client base, working with 5–6 horses throughout the summer and fall.

Building a Future in Training
My experiences, both in and out of the show ring, have shaped my approach to training. I believe in working with each horse as an individual,
understanding their personality, energy, and learning style. From liberty work to performance training, my focus is always on creating a strong, willing, and confident equine partner.

At Southside Performance Horses, I bring this philosophy to every horse I train, ensuring they leave with a solid
foundation that allows them to continue learning and excelling long after their time with me.
I’m grateful for every horse that has been part of my journey and excited for the ones yet to come!
