Did you find a horse that isn’t quite sure of themselves? Maybe they’re reactive, unsure, or even aggressive,
and you don’t want to give up on them? Or perhaps you have a horse that’s been sitting in the field for years
and now you want to start riding again?
If any of this sounds familiar, you’ve come to the right place!

Helping Horses Find Their Confidence
At Southside Performance Horses, LLC, we specialize in restarting horses—whether they’ve been out of work for a while, experienced setbacks, or need a refresher to get back on track. Our goal is to remind them of their foundation, rebuild their confidence, and give them a stronger base to move forward. (Timelines will vary from equine to equine)
A Patient, Horse-Centered Approach
We let each horse set their own pace, so they don’t feel overwhelmed or rushed. This ensures they can retain what they’ve
learned and helps build a solid foundation for future progress. Because we focus on their individual needs, we require horses
to stay for a minimum of three months. There is no maximum stay—we’ll continue working with your horse for as long as needed.
In some cases, we may recommend a longer stay to ensure consistent progress and to address any lingering issues.
Who Can Benefit from Restarting
Restarting isn’t just for horses with behavioral issues or those that have been out of work for a while. This program is also designed for:
• Horses that have been abused, drugged, or mistreated in the past.
• Horses that are aggressive, spooky, or unsure of tack and handling.
• Horses that need a solid foundation to build on or refinement before moving into a discipline.
We believe every horse deserves a chance at a better, safer future, and we’re here to help them improve, rebuild trust, and get back to
being their best selves.
What We Need to Know
When inquiring about restarting your horse, please provide as much detail as possible, including:
• The reason you believe your horse needs to be restarted.
• Your goals for the end of their training.
