Starting a colt isn’t just about putting a few rides on them—it’s about laying a strong foundation that will support them for a lifetime. Every horse learns at their own pace, and rushing the process only creates gaps in their training. That’s why we require a minimum three-month stay for all colt starts.

This allows us to:
• Build trust, confidence, and responsiveness before asking for more.
• Ensure your horse develops softness in the face, body control, and a relaxed mindset.
• Provide consistent exposure to new experiences, environments, and obstacles to create a mentally sound, adaptable horse.
• Set them up for long-term success so you can confidently continue their training when they return home.

Each colt will receive consistent, individualized training that progresses at a pace suited to their personality and ability. By the end of their time with us, most horses will:
• Walk, jog, and lope under saddle with confidence and control.
• Understand how to stop, back up, and yield to leg and rein pressure.
• Develop balance, body control, and softness through correct foundation work.
• Gain experience in various settings, including open areas, trails, and obstacles.
Some horses may progress faster than others, but our goal is always to create a calm, willing, and well-prepared partner—not just a horse that’s been ridden.
